Consumer Review: I Bought Some Name Brand Creatine For $30 And Didn't Gain 1 Pound Of Muscle.

I am an 18year old male and at 6 feet 140 pounds I'm basically skin and bones. About 6 months ago I became incredibly interested in gaining weight and muscle mass. I went to the gym maybe 2-3 times a week and sometimes not even that. One of my friends suggested that I pick up some creatine, start hitting the gym more often, and eating better. I went to a local nutrition center and bought some name brand creatine for about 30 bucks. I started to go the gym every other day and on the days I didn't go I did exercises with dumbbells at home.

I followed the directions on the label and, for the 2 weeks that it lasted me, I didn't gain a pound or get any bigger. I realize that 2 weeks is nothing and real weight gaining and muscle growth takes time, but I at least figured that for 30 bucks I might feel stronger. That was the only experience I've had with weight gainers, but from what I've observed it seems that their effect depends on the person. I would like to put some meat on my bones and if I'm doing anything wrong, or if anyone has some advice then knock some sense into my skinny head!

The reason why you are not feeling stronger is because you have only been taking the supplement for two weeks. You must go to the gym at least five times a week and follow the directions for taking the creatine. I am 19 and weigh 150 pounds. I have been taking creatine for a little over a month, combined with healthy eating and strict training. I have gained 10 pounds of lean muscle while adding a significant amount of weight and reps to my exercises.

Response #2

I am now thirty years old, and struggled with my weight for many years. I have been in and out of gyms for most of my life, but find it difficult to carry on going when I see little or no results. I started taking creatine about two months ago, and have seen a improvements in my muscle mass. I have gained strength over the years, but now I can also see growth. I stopped smoking which also helped with some fat gain, but I now seem to have reached a plateau.

The creatine will certainly work, but it will take time. You must remember that weight gain is not directly proportional to the amount of food you intake. Think how much food you need to eat just for one pound of muscle growth. Also remember that muscle growth is the breaking down and building up of the muscle tissue, and this in itself is a slow process.

For the first time in my life I am seeing results, and I can even feel myself grow. Although I have reached a plateau after a sudden spurt of growth, I am still showing small daily gains. I weigh more now than I have ever weighed in my life, and I am very excited, and impatient at the same time. If you are really interested in gaining weight (guaranteed) just do the following:

-Go to gym and train at least four (4) times a week. DO NOT train too many body parts on the same day. Select days to do certain muscle groups, I train calves, lats and triceps on Monday, biceps on Tuesday, Chest on Wednesday, Upper leg on Thursday, and Shoulders on Friday.

-DO NOT do any aerobic exercise until you feel you have gained at least half the weight you want to achieve.

-Go to bed early. The later you stay up, the more fuel you burn.

-ALWAYS have your three meals, with snacks between meals. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. NEVER skip meals. Eat until you are full, not sick!.

-Take CREATINE supplements. I take the tablets, which are convenient since I can take them to work. I take 2 tablets, 4 times a day (500mg tablets), which adds up to 4 grams a day. You may feel 'funny' when you first start taking the creatine, but see how it goes for the first few days, and see how your body reacts to it. If you continue to have side effects decrease your intake until you have no or little side effects. If you are at all in doubt see your doctor, this is only a recommended use of the product.

-Drink PLENTY of fluids. Drink plenty of water, this is recommended when using creatine to prevent cramps. Drink lots of pure fruit juices and milk. This is the easiest way of gaining weight since fluids are easy to ingest.

-Stick with it!. Give it three months. Although you will see changes in the first few days, big gains take longer. And remember you won't always have to eat like a horse to keep the weight, once your body maintains the weight for a while, your metabolism will adjust itself.

GOOD LUCK
