Consumer Review: My Friends Criticize Me For Using Creatine, But They're Just Jealous Of My Bench Press.

I have taken creatine for 2 years and have put on 30 pounds and have upped my bench from 115 to 225 pounds with serious training and hard work. I have been criticized by peers for the use of supplements. A lot of them wish they could do what I do. If you think about it, it is pretty unreal for a 5'8" 145 pound 18 year old to max out 225 pounds for five reps. So creatine did it for me. I also leg press 410. If you don't believe me then it's your loss.

Tell your friends that you would gladly get your daily 5g of creatine from meat but that you can't stomach eating 2 lbs of beef a day. All you are doing is getting the creatine in a condensed form. It is a natural food product.

My muscles were stale and I was not going up in my bench for about 6 months. Then I started taking creatine. I put on 40 pounds of muscle in 6 months. My max on the bench press soared from 235 to 300 pounds. My leg press also reached 630 pounds. Creatine helped break me through my plateau. Nonetheless I am convinced that you have to lift to complete exhaustion for creatine to have any effect at all. It is not a magic medicine to make you stronger. You have to work hard.

I feel that all of you people out there need to have a serious reality check. No matter how big you are, a good diet and hard work will give you a healthy strong body in no time. I am a 17 year old high school football player all natural. I am 6'3" tall 260 pounds I bench 365 and parallel squat 465 free weight I also hang clean 300 pound and power clean 285. But the catcher is I eat a lot of steak breads and drink about a gallon of water a day. This proves you don't need supplements. But if you do think about people such as Lyle Alzedo who to the day he died believes the supplements he consumed killed him. Not to mention all supplements are a quick fix.

Response #4

I personally believe that taking creatine at a certain age is the key. Also drinking plenty of water. Though I believe that if you train hard enough you will not need creatine unless your older. I weigh 200 and bench 310 and squat 600. I hadn't started taking creatine until 6 months ago and it helps, but mainly work your but off and eat about 6 cans of tuna a day and stay away from fat.

Hey I'm also 18, I've been working out for 2 years, when I started I weighed 120lbs., I'm now 185 and press 275 (max), I've never taken creatine, but I eat a lot, and have a myoplex shake a day, I've heard too many bad things about creatine, but hey if it makes you happy go for it.

Response #6

I have never used creatine, but I'm about to try it. I'm 18 and have been lifting for about 5 years. I can bench 356, squat about 520, and curl 180. Oh, and I weigh 208. I can easily out lift anyone at my school but I need a little more to help me beat some of the guys I've seen at the gym. I hope creatine helps.

Response #7

I am a 19 year old military member and a year ago I weighed 135 and benched 155. I started taking creatine 3 months ago and, through hard work, creatine and daily vitamins I am now 5'11'' weighing 153 pounds and I bench 225 and I leg press 600 pounds. I have always been stronger than most people my size, but I am sure creatine has been helping me.

Response #8

What are your friends jealous of? Your bench press is not "unreal." Measure up to this: I'm 18 years old (Jan. 4, 1982), weighing 173 lbs. My five rep bench max is 275. My best lift in a bench press contest was 348.5 lbs. And who cares what you leg press? What do you SQUAT? Hang with 505, then run your mouth.

Response #9

It appears that this messaging system is an excellent way for everyone to boast about how much they can lift and type in large numbers. It appears creatine brings water to the ego as well as one's muscles.

Response #10

I'm seventeen years old and 5'4", I weigh 227 lbs and I can bench 625, squat 1135, and curl 315, and all this thanks to creatine. I have felt no side effects (such as renal failure, heart palpitations, emasculation, Jekyll/Hyde mood swings or brain tumors). So could someone tell me why all the negative hype about creatine? Before I started taking it, I only weighed 153 lbs. That's a gain of 74 lbs of pure muscle, and I did this in only 8 and 1/2 months on creatine. Granted, I eat 9 meals a day and work out for 2 and 1/2 hours, 5 times a week, but I swear creatine has done me right. I can't believe some of the crap people are saying on this site about their negative experience with creatine. I think they should just keep quiet and quit lying about what they only pretend to know.
