Consumer Review: I Tore My Calf While Taking Creatine.

I got severe cramps in my calves from creatine. When warming up with light running before playing soccer, I got severe cramps and a torn left calf.

First of all, did a doctor tell you the cramps were from creatine? Didn't think so. Second of all, tell me that no one has ever pulled a muscle while not on creatine. Hmmmm...didn't think you could! Before you give people faulty info, maybe you should get the facts buddy. Thanks.

This is in response to the first response. Look, you tell me if any body you know has ever tore a calf, a frikken calf muscle? I wonder why you are saying no? Maybe because it doesn't happen. My uncle is a paramedic and my father a firefighter, and my Grandfather, well, is yes, an M.D. Nobody I know has ever heard of a muscle tear located there happening in a light jog. Maybe it is because it is not a natural thing to do. It probably was from the creatine because the muscles were so packed with water that it made the muscle that much more fragile.

I am 16 years old and have been playing soccer since I was yay high. Well recently I got a mind numbing cramp in my left calf. My trainer for my h.s. told me it could be in part from not eating right, and lack of minerals. The not eating right is bull. But, I believe the mineral part was right. Also I believe it was in part to the pounding that was put on the muscle during the game. It was the first time I had run in a while and I think I just over did it so to speak. SO now I believe I should inform you its probably not from creatine, but instead from lack of minerals and lack of use of the muscle. I also believe if you are going to be using creatine you also need to make certain precautions. One main one I will stress is get plenty of water. I cant not stress this enough during the soccer season.

Thank you,
JASON

I've taken creatine off and on for about 5 years now. I'm a sprinter for a major university and creatine has increased my times substantially. I gain about 5-10 lbs. every time I get on creatine and my speed gets better too in about 3 weeks after I start taking creatine. The only problem is that I pull my muscles and cramp, but only when I'm training hard. If you're taking creatine for bodybuilding, you probably won't have any problems cramping. If your taking it for sports, I'd recommend a creatine serum, it seems to work better for athletes. If you keep cramping and pulling muscles, try the serum.
