Consumer Review: My Acne Came Back After I Started Taking Creatine.

I have been using creatine for over a month and I have made considerable gains in strength. I am quite happy with the progress I have made but one side effect seems to be a bit of an annoyance. I have had acne in the past but it has been gone for a year or so and I was very pleased with that. But since I started taking creatine my acne has come back. It isn't very bad at all but it is definitely there. I know that creatine effects individuals in different ways, but is it possible for creatine to give me acne? If so, although I am definitely enjoying the positive effects of creatine, I will discontinue its use.

Thanks
Zach

I have been on creatine for about a month and have noticed great increases in my endurance. I had an acne problem and, with medication, it went away. My acne has not returned and I hope it doesn't. I was wondering if you were on some medication for your acne.

I believe this to be true. I've always thought myself lucky regarding acne. Never really had it when I was young. I did remember getting it a bit in the summer when I took creatine for a month when I was 15. I stopped right away. I took creatine for 6 weeks at the age of 18 and out of nowhere had acne again. It has been a month or two off right now, plus with medication, I believe that the acne is gone as it was for the 3 years between taking creatine.

I too started to use creatine and I noticed a great difference in my workout. The only side effect that I had was acne. I tested my theory by going on and off creatine for a year. Every time I was using creatine, my acne would break out. The acne would stay in my system for a couple of weeks, then it would disappear. I have stopped using creatine because of this side effect. I also have friends who stayed with creatine and have far surpassed me in terms of working out, but they have bad acne because of this product.

I have read all the magazines on creatine. I have searched the net. I have asked health specialists. I actually spent $120 on the stuff the other day. Now that I have read these articles, I am thinking I might not take it. I am 21 and I have just gotten rid of my acne, which has plagued me since I was 14! I will read up on it some more. Though, I should say thanks!

I am glad I checked this site because my face has started breaking out with acne. I use to have really bad acne, but it's been under control for awhile now. I thought something else might have been causing it. Thanks.

My older brother started taking Creatine to get buff (as most high school males yearn to be). He had a small amount of acne before he began taking Creatine, but when he started, he broke out--and I mean bad, even on his back! I knew in the back of my mind it was from his consumption of Creatine, but I never could confirm it. He never believed me when I tried to tell him. Now I know he isn't alone. Thank you.
