Consumer Review: I Recently Visited The Hospital Emergency Room Thanks To Creatine.

I've used creatine before and I'll never do it again. I recently paid a visit to the hospital emergency room in severe lower back pain with nausea, vomiting, headache and chills. They assumed I had kidney stones which I've had before (8 years prior). I had gotten back into the gym after a 6 month hiatus with a low pre-workout creative load. After exhaustive tests, no stones were found and my liver function returned to normal.

Forward 3 months to yesterday. Assuming my kidney problems where congenital, as my doctor suggested, I once again began using creatine. Yesterday I came back from the gym feeling back pain, nausea, light-headed, etc. A few hours later I felt fine. I believe it was the creatine.

Creatine is tempting, because it does work as advertised, but perhaps it is too good to be true. Be careful if you're going to take it.

Response #1

I have been using Creatine, sticking to the safe dosage for the past year and have had no problems whatsoever. What most people don't know is that when you use it for 2 months you must have at least 1 month off it. After all, too much of many things is bad. I'm not surprised that some people get problems with creatine if they over do it when taking it. It's all down to common sense. If anyone is unsure about the dosages, ask your doctor, don't start complaining because of stupidity.
