Consumer Review: Anyone Who Thinks Creatine Doesn't Work Need To Get Their Head Checked Or Work Out More Intensely.

I'm 17 years old and I've been on and off of creatine for about a year now. Not only do I look a lot bigger and more intimidating, but I've had major gains in every lift that I do. When I first started lifting at around 15, my max on the bench press was about 115, give or take. After cycling with creatine (2 months on, 2 off) my max is around 225 and my legs have also gotten a lot stronger too, as my weight when I do squats keeps rising.

I am now taking Cell-Tech, which is working pretty good (don't take the whole suggested serving, just take a little more than a scoop). I've tried other supplements and they did jack for me. I do dumbbell presses now instead of bench, and I can do three sets of 70's on the flat bench, and now I do 75's on decline. I'm only on 60's for incline, but I'm working on it.

With creatine supplementation, you only get out of it what you put in. It's not like you can take it without working out. That'd be a complete waste of money. It can run pretty expensive (I get the hook up from some guy at Vitamin World--he gave me the big Cell-Tech bottle for $30) but if you're willing to put in the hard work, it more than pays for itself.

Hope this helps out all you high school kids wondering whether or not to take it. By the way, don't start seriously working out until you're well into puberty. I always see these damn 12 year olds trying to work out at my gym and it pisses me off cuz they take up space and they're most likely stunting their growth. This sh-- works as much or as little as you want it to.

I would just like to comment that I personally have not seen any effects from Creatine. Fortunately, I haven't seen any negative effects from Creatine either. I am 17 years old, and I think I gained about 4 or 5 pounds in 3 months! Not very impressive. I took the normal dosage and the maintenance phase dosage. I worked out about 4 to 6 times a day.

I can say that I started benching about 120 and then increased to around 150 lbs. in about 3 months. That is an increase, no denying that, but I think that came naturally and that Creatine failed me. I can't say to anyone to not use it, but I will say that it is possible for it not to work, at least not as much as others. I congratulate those who it worked for. But, as long as no negative side effects show up, I'm happy.

I'm sorry that you have not seen the gains that I have. I think that the only possible explanation is that either you are a "non-responder," a term given to those who creatine does not effect, or that you might not be taking it when you are supposed to. You are supposed to take creatine immediately after a workout in order to decrease time between workouts and maximize gains. Follow that with a protein shake. In order to build muscle, it is imperative that you eat a lot of protein. When you work out, you are breaking down your muscle. Protein rebuilds it so it is stronger. Without protein, you wont see much of a difference at all.

The last thing I wanted to say was that most likely, you were overworking your muscles. Working out 4-6 times a day is far too much for your body to handle, and I definitely think you over trained yourself. It sounds odd, but I've heard that you actually decrease in muscle size if you work out more than your body can handle. Sounds weird, but it's true. You must give your body sufficient resting time, or else all your hard work will backfire.

Try working out once a day, six days a week. Try this: DAY 1: legs and abs. DAY 2: back and shoulders. DAY 3: chest and arms. Do this cycle with a rest day in between chest and legs. Try this for a while and tell me it doesn't work. Hope my advice helps. Write back with an update whenever.

I am 18 years old and I have been working out for about 2 years. I started lifting naturally and noticed good results in the first couple weeks, then I floated in the weight area from there on. Then I started taking Creatine Monohydrate and my energy level skyrocketed and I went up in every exercise. I cycled on and off creatine for about 4 months, then due to all the questions being raised, I stopped taking creatine. Once again I was lifting on my own and with no supplements and stayed that way until about 3 weeks ago. I started taking creatine again because in all the time I have been off creatine I moved up very little in my weight and in my workout. I have moved more in the past 3 weeks then I have in the past 3 months. Creatine hasn't giving me any side effects. It might have made me a little more aggressive, but that is not a bad trait if portrayed right. So, people who say it doesn't work must be doing something stupid because it gives me awesome results.

Yeah OK, I'm gonna take the the advice of a 17 year old kid with how many years of lifting experience? I've been training for longer then you've been alive. All you are most likely experiencing is the normal effects of training on you body. If you took nothing at all your bench is going to go up. I can't believe you people. You're training for the first time in your lives, taking this crap, and saying , "Wow this stuff must be why I'm getting so much stronger." It's not. Let see you lift for ten years solid, hit a serious plateau, then take this crap and see if it does anything. I bet it doesn't
