Creatine

I am 22 years old, and within the past year I've gotten out of shape. I used to be extremely skinny, but now I've thickened up a lot. I'm not fat (5'6", 131 lbs.), but I do want to become more solid and replace a lot of this body fat with muscle. I've heard a lot of good things about creatine. Would you recommend it for women interested in developing musculature but not body building? Also, what do you suggest that I do to maintain some thickness and still lose the fat once I begin my workout regiment as far as exercise and supplements. I ran track for six years so running is my first love, but I get so skinny with that.
