Consumer Review: Creatine Helped Me Build Muscle And Increase My Lifting Capacity, But It May Have Also Caused Abnormal Liver Function.

I used the EAS Phosphagen (Creatine Monohydrate) and Betagen (Creatine Monohydrate and HMB) products according to their recommended dosage for a period of approximately 2 - 3 months. I have not take then any supplements since June. What I found is that the products did appear to have a significant effect on building muscle mass, burning fat and increasing my lifting capacity.

However, I have had 3 blood tests since I have gone off the supplements and the tests are showing abnormal liver function - specifically high bilyrubin(?) levels. I have been hearing a lot about the effects of creatine on the liver and kidneys but I am just not sure if these problems are a result of my supplement use or some other medical problem. If you have any feedback on the issue please respond.

Creatine does adversely affect your liver function; it increases your level of bilirubins your liver produces from the normal level .3 - 1.9 to a point way off the scale (causing jaundice) so use this item with care.
