Consumer Review: I Was Using Creatine In March And May 1st I Was Hospitalized With Pancretitis.

Do you or anyone else have any information about creatine and pancretitis? I would like to know because I was using it in March of this year and May 1st I was hospitalized for a week with pancretitis, any connection?

Response #1

Yes, I just spent 10 hours in the emergency room following the loading phase of creatine. Acute, severe pancretitis. It would appear there is some connection.

Response #2

I am disturbed to see that there may be some connection between the two. I was born with a rare condition called familial pancretitis (meaning it is hereditary). When I was young I would occasionally have an attack when I ingested too much fat. An attack occurs when the pancreas can no longer digest that which is ingested, and it begins to digest itself. The cure for me is simply not to eat or drink ANYTHING for a day and then slowly build up to a normal diet. It no longer seems to affect me anymore (except when large quantities of alcohol are involved) and I do take Creatine Monohydrate and have had no problems as such. I am curious if Creatine places a greater strain on an already inflicted pancreas.
