Consumer Review: I Am Taking Prolab Creatine Monohydrate For My Upcoming Crew, Rowing, Season.

I am currently taking Prolab Creatine Monohydrate for my upcoming crew (rowing) season. I started about two weeks ago. I've already noticed an increase in strength and endurance, but I've also noticed that blood isn't circulating through my hands as well as it used too. My hands "fall asleep" whenever I lift them above my heart. Also, I've been hearing a great deal about how creatine effects your kidneys and that you can tear muscles easier. My brother is an all natural bodybuilder and he swears that it is perfectly safe, but I don't believe him with all of this stuff I've been reading. Can someone please give me some answers!!! I would also like to know if drinking alcoholic beverages and taking creatine is a bad mixture.

Thanks,

I am having similar symptoms while using Creatine ATP. Hands tend to tingle a lot and fall asleep often. Any ideas what causes this?

I am not a doctor, but know that I felt terrible while drinking and on Creatine. Obviously, Creatine puts a tremendous strain on the liver, and alcohol does the same. Add to this the fact that alcohol causes extreme dehydration, while Creatine craves an extra intake of water, and I have to believe the results could be devastating.

I will not take Creatine on any day I know I will be going for drinks and am currently not drinking for the month (not an easy task) just for safety precautions.

I have heard of terrible things happening to those who drink and use Creatine regularly and would love to hear from others on this issue.

Creatine made my hands tingle too. Also I got hangovers much easier and more often when I drank while on creatine.

This is the first time I have attempted to find info on creatine and I find it amazing how similar the experiences are. I'm not trying to scare you, but this is what my friend experienced while we both took creatine. He is 26 years old and would be considered as someone who drinks a lot and has a high fat diet. Towards the end of his first cycle he was getting the tingling feeling in his hands and feet, and ignored them. To make a long story short he developed Gout. His ankles swelled up to about twice there normal size. He could not walk or put shoes on. The Doc said that Gout is hereditary and he would have developed it in his fifties like most people do, but that taking creatine definitely sped things up. It's scary because he is so young. Also, every time he takes a drink his ankles swell within 20 minutes. From what I've read, Gout can severely reduce your life expectancy, sort of like diabetics.

I am 35 years old and was looking for something to help my workouts. I started taking creatine from EAS. I started with the recommended bulk up stage for one week and followed the directions there after. I also had some strange feelings in my foot. I thought I may have pulled something at the gym. It developed into GOUT! That is not to say it will happen to everyone if they take creatine, but it must be doing something to one's system. I never want to experience that kind of pain again. This just happened last week and I will be glad to mail my bottle of creatine to anyone who wants it. Enough for me.
