Question: Does Diet Fuel By Twin Lab, Sold At GNC, Cause Side Effects?

Has anyone seen any side effects from taking Twin Lab's Diet Fuel, sold at GNC? Are there any other supplements out there that help loose fat better?

Answer #1

The best fat burner I've tried is called CUTS II and is from Prolab Nutrition. It has L-Carnitine, Lecithin, Choline, Inositol, Methionine, VitaminB6, Linoleic acid, Oleic acid, Natural diuretic herbs, and lots more. It's supposed to be taken exactly at times when your body naturally uses the fat stores, so it enhances this natural capacity. This is the best to get ripped, and believe me, I've tried Diet Fuel and Ripped Fuel, but they have this guarana effect which triggers epinephrine and you get a high heart rate, chills, and other side effects.

Thank you,

I have tried a few fat burning supplements and the one that proved most efficient was Twinlab's Diet Fuel (the old formula). I am so mad that they aren't selling it anymore! The new formula just isn't the same.

I have been training off and on & the best fat burner I have found is Ultra Thermogen-X by NHF (Nu-sport Health and Fitness). I took them while on a creatine, whey protein, and York barbell and dumbbell system. My best weight loss was 6lbs. in a week.

I took Diet Fuel for 3 months during the summer. I spent six days a week at the gym, I lost 10lbs, but gained 4lbs in muscle. I went from 24% body fat to 19%!! Towards the end of my summer and 1/2 way through my third month I noticed that I was very irritable, did not sleep well at ALL. And my head was constantly turning. Sometimes I would want to pull my brain right out of my head...the pills would make me feel this way. Today I am taking Met-Rx's Thermocore, it is amazing...you take it in the morning and it works for 10 HOURS!!! It doesn't make my head feel like it needs to be off of my neck...nor do I get headaches, I can sleep through the night, AND I am enjoying life!!

I have been taking Diet Fuel by Twinlab for about a year now and have lost over 30 pounds of fat and 4 inches in my waist line. My body fat has dropped down to 6.8% I am 5.9 and 145 pounds and look great. My body is toned and my muscled are very well defined. If you want to get LEAN this is the supplement for you. If you want to bulk up do not take Diet Fuel. I have started drinking 100% Pure Whey Protein Isolute at 50 gms. per day to gain additional muscle. I do it this way to avoid having to eat six times a day and take in excess calories that I do not really need.

Good luck.

I have been taking it for 2 days. Last night before I went to bed I had the weirdest feeling. I felt extremely nervous, anxiety, and scared. It was very scary and I could tell my heart rate was up. I am also so on a low protein diet and trying to lose about 20 pounds. I was taking 1 pill a day then yesterday before dinner I took 2. I don't know if it was because of the higher dose or what, but I want to continue the program - but I don't want to feel that way ever again! Any suggestions???

Thanks

I have been taking diet fuel by twin lab for a few months now and it has helped me lose an additional 10-12 lbs along with the aerobic and toning classes I have been doing intensively. I do not want to stay on this for much longer, but, of course, do not want to gain fat back. I am now up to the maximum of 9 pills a day. I still have a huge problem going to sleep at night, or even wanting to, where before I never had a sleeping problem.

I have found with the anxiety problems when increasing the dosage or just when starting, not to wait so long to eat as the directions tell you to. I try to keep it to around 10 minutes. Also, increase the dosage very slowly. Drink a lot of water, especially when taking the pills. Make sure you eat after taking them; don't just take them and work out--eat something!! It took me about a month and then I noticed my appetite very noticeably slacking off. Good Luck!

Anybody have any ideas what I should move on to now? Thanks!

I am a wrestler, age 16 the first day I was 174 lbs. I'm 5'10. 1 month later I lost nearly 20 lbs. I wrestle at 152 lbs.

I just started taking Diet Fuel TODAY! I've only taken one pill (about 5 hours ago) and I've had to go to the bathroom a lot and I have "cottonmouth." Also, I have a small case of the shakes. It's a really weird feeling, but I am going to continue to take them. Good luck everyone!

I took the original formula of Diet Fuel from Twin Lab for a few weeks and it made me so shaky and nervous that I would jump and scream every time my boss walked into my office!! I switched to the stimulant-free newer version and did a little better but still experienced headaches and insomnia. I think you're better off not using this stuff. It really sucks.

Answer #11

I have tried Diet Fuel and it me extremely tired. I went to sleep from both. Has anyone else had this effect? The woman at GNC told me that I have a backwards system and that she has heard of only a few others who have had similar reactions. I'm currently taking another supplement that has no stimulants at all to avoid putting me to sleep.

Hi, I am a mom of 3 and have been trying to shed the extra weight, which is near to impossible when your house is stocked with chocolate pop tarts and rice crispy treats. I am not a body builder or even a regular exerciser. I am usually barely able to wake up enough to get my kids to school in time. I have started taking diet fuel and also amino fuel because they are the only products that I have ever had results from. It is true that you can get shaky if you take too much or don't eat after taking them (just use some common sense people, give it some time, you can't lose that fat in the next ten minutes by taking an extra pill) and don't take it in the evening unless you really want to get all those clothes folded that have been piled up in your room the last 2 weeks. The ingredients in diet fuel are almost exactly what is in metabolife at a fraction of the cost. Amino fuel gives you protein that helps your muscles burn fat and amino acids also help you not crave sugar (for example there have been Reese's peanut butter cups in our cabinet for a week and I only ate 1!).

I have been taking diet fuel off and on for 3 years. I love the stuff. You have to work at finding what is right for your particular body though. For me, when I start using it for a period of time, I make a schedule of when I increase my dosage and when I don't. I start by taking 2 a day (one in the morning, and one at lunch). Finally, I work up to 6 a day, but never take it past 1:00pm. I have found that if I take it any later, I can't get good rest (my body never lets itself get so relaxed that I get good sleep). I have taken too much before, and it DID make me sleepy. I use it mostly for weight management, and I have had steady weight loss when using it, working out, and eating right.

I started taking diet fuel last year and rapidly lost 20 pounds in only a few months. After a while, I began to have horrible mood swings and constant headaches. Every morning I would wake up with a nose bleed and, even worse, I developed heart palpitations. Diet Fuel was great at first, but do not take it any longer than 12 weeks.

Answer #15

I've taken Diet Fuel for about a year and a half, and although I used to work out 4 to 5 times a week, I haven't done much more than ride a bike for the past year. This supplement gave me the shakes, nervousness, frequent urination, muscle aches, and most of the symptoms others have described at first.

The key is to not exceed the recommended dosage and only take it twice per day. I take it at around 6:45 am before breakfast and right before lunch. DO NOT take it after lunchtime. You will toss and turn at night. I have maintained my weight for the most part, but everyone tells me I look thinner. I think it has been most effective for eating away the dreaded face and neck fat that is so hard to get rid of.

I'm anxious to start working out and maybe not drink a twelve pack 2 nights a week with friends just to see what real power this supplement has. I might drop from 235 to 215 or so. I use it to stay somewhat trim and maintain my weight. Without exercising, I can choke down all the carbs, cheeseburgers, and brew that I want and not go up a waist size or turn into a complete slob. Well, at least not look like one.
