Consumer Review: Using Creatine And Hydroxycut Made Me Feel Bloated And I Have Not Lost Weight.

I have just recently started taking creatine to build muscle mass and hydroxycut in order to lose weight. After one week of serious dieting with a low fat, low carb, high protein diet, I feel bloated, and I have not lost weight. In fact, my pants feel tighter than ever. Am I doing something wrong?

Response #1

You are not doing anything wrong, but you are not doing anything right either. The Hydroxycut has one main purpose which is to get rid of all extra water in your body. This will get you more "ripped" and help you loose weight. Hydroxycut has nothing to do with building mass. The creatine does the exact opposite, adding water to your muscles to give you more mass.

You are using 2 products that negate each other. Caffeine, which is in Hydroxycut, negates the effects of creatine. So, you are just putting stress on your liver and getting no results. Most of the time, you can get your nutritional value from good food without the use of supplements. But, in reality, noone has time to do that. So, that is why we use supplements. You are probably better off getting off creating first. Then, leaning out with Hydroxycut and a lot of cardio work. Once you reach your goal, load up with the creatine again. Good luck and remember that your long term health is a lot more important then your short term looks.

Even though you may have read many articles displaying people who have experienced drastic fat loss in just a few days, I assure you these are rare circumstances. You cannot accurately asses the potential success of your muscle building - fat loss strategy over such a short period of time.

In regards to diet, you should be consuming approximately 10-12 calories per pound of body weight per day, spread out over 5 to 6 meals. Protein and carbs should be around 1.5 grams per pound of bodyweight a day, depending on your body type and exercise regimen. (If anything increase protein intake and slightly decrease carbs.) In order to consume a sufficient amount of protein it is necessary to us some type of protein meal replacement powder. This is probably why you are experiencing bloating, it is a common "side effect" to cheap protein supplements.

Whey protein is the best bet. Try to stick with recognizable brands such as Prolab, Designer Protein, or if you can afford it, Meso-Tech. You must also make sure you are consuming LOTS OF WATER, (at least 1 gallon a day) especially since you are taking creatine. Try making these few changes and give your new program sufficient time (4-6 weeks) before making any judgements on its success. I hope this helps you achieve your goal.
