Consumer Review: I Tried Hydroxycut When My Doctor Told Me I Was Borderline Obese, And It Worked Like A Charm.

First of all, Hydroxycut is your friend! Not exactly a cheap friend...but a good one.

When I started hydroxycut a month ago, I didn't have much info to go on, it only sounded mysteriously promising. Needless to say, I went to GNC and bought a 240 capsule bottle of Hydroxycut. The dude at GNC told me all about different stuff comparable to Hydroxycut, but also stated that in some magazines the gurus read that Hydroxycut was rated the highest by far. Needless to say, I wanted results and didn't want to screw around. I wanted the best, now, and what would work.

So I'm 22 years old and I gained much too much weight after I turned 21--drank too much, and just living at college and eating out to much. So there I was about a month ago, weighing in at 196lbs, being 5'10. The highest weight I reached was 205lbs and my doctor said I was "BORDERLINE OBESE." Needless to say, the word OBESE on any level, borderline or not, was no way in hell going to describe me.

So I putzed around and got down to the 196lbs from the 205lbs pretty easily because I was FAT then and truly could loose that weight.

So, at 196 I started on Hydroxycut (which I will now abbreviate as HYC). I started drinking at least .75 gallons of water a day, trying to work up to 1 gallon a day. Eventually I got there after about a week. The first week, I took 6 tablets (2, 2, 2) for 4 days then moved to 9 tablets (3, 3, 3) for 3 days. Weighing in at 200lbs, I felt somewhat edgy to start, but felt that dosage allowed me to maximize the dose without feeling like crap (e.g. all bugged out). My suggestion is to start small, move up slowly and do what is right for you.

During the first week, even with downing gallons of H20, which weighs nearly 8lbs/gallon (but it goes right through you) I lost about 6lbs.

During the 2nd week, dosage was at 9 tablets (3, 3, 3) all week, I lost another 5lbs.

During the 3rd week, dosage was at 12 tablets (4, 4, 4), another 4-5lbs.

During the 4th week, dosage was at 12 tablets, another 4-5 lbs.

Needless to say, I'm weighing in at a GRAND TOTAL OF 179lbs and feel GREAT! So far, I've lost a total with and without hydroxycut of nearly 26 POUNDS. I'm TOTALLY convinced Hydroxycut contributed wholeheartedly to at least 20 of those pounds.

So, IT'S WORKING LIKE A CHARM!!! Now If you're like me, you want specific details about my life and what's changed...understandable.

Do I work out? I've worked about about 7 times...like twice a week, cardio for like 35 minutes. So no, not a lot.

What do I eat? Stop eating the CRAP in your diet. Go heavy on protein (baked chicken is my favorite--no oil), salads and low carb bread. Lay off the BOOZE too. Doesn't really make much sense to me to spend lots of money on supplements when you're going to booze the benefit away, but that's just me.

What have I noticed? My figure has like totally changed. People are saying, "YOU'RE SO THIN" (not really, but a drastic change). Just by looking in the mirror, you can tell what you're LOSING is SOLID FAT!

Anyway, imagine twenty, one-pound steaks piled up on a butcher's counter. Now imagine there is no meat, only twenty pounds of FAT. Now look in the mirror and see where that FAT is on you and imagine LOSING it.

That's what I feel I look like now...TOTALLY, UNCONDITIONALLY, DIFFERENT.

So, my advice is that hydroxycut is AWESOME. It's also expensive (at GNC I paid $67.00/240, but recently bought 2 more 240s online for $33.00 each with free shipping, so shop around). GNC is a rip off.

Hydroxycut also should be taken with lots of water to WASH the fat away. Your body is biological in nature...it's gotta come out somehow remember.

Eat healthy and increase to the max dosage slowly or you'll feel like you're about to die. Hydroxycut contains lots of stimulants...both elements that will buzz you out, especially if you're sensitive. I have no problem when using my head...so use yours. Dose up slowly and be patient...the magic will come.

I guess that's it. Enjoy...and if you're thinking about it, do it. JUST DON'T BUY AT GNC...the bastards are rip off artists, but a good source of info maybe. Buy online...you will pay 50% less for the same brands.

There is also a generic for Hydroxycut online, but I'm not quite sure about that. I was so thrilled with the name brand performance there is no way I will I substitute when I can buy the name brand for 50% off retail online and the generic is only about 10% less than that.

And lastly, if there are any 20 to 26 year old guys out there with similar stories and/or extensions of my story, post them here.

This message was posted by me and is approximately 1 week old. As of now, I am down another 4 pounds to 175 from 205. This being a total loss of 31 pounds in eight weeks, and still dropping.

I feel the weight is starting to come off slower now. Probably because I have less to lose. I can see a significant change not only in my stomach, hips, etc., but arms, legs, face, etc. have drastically toned down.

Hydroxycut seems to drop the fat everywhere. I'm under the suspicion that men lose weight on their arms, legs, shoulders and face first, then move more toward stomach/chest later. This does make a bit of biological sense if you think of how your body reacts to a decrease in food and essential functions.

So far, here are my measurements and stats as the time passes (measurements are in centimeters for easier reading).

6/18/00 185# W91 N95 C 97.5 RT 62.5 LT 63
6/25/00 181# W90 N94 C - RT 61 LT 62.5
7/2/00 177# W88.5 N89 C 94 RT 60 LT 60
7/9/00 174# W87.5 N86.5 C 93.5 RT 59 LT 59

#: Pounds
W: Waist measured in cm
N: Tape wrapped around stomach crossing over navel measured in CM
C: Tape wrapped around Chest crossing over nipple line measured in CM
RT: Right Thigh measured at groin in CM
LT: Left Thigh measured at groin in CM

At this point, I think I need to add more exercise to my regimen. As of yet, I haven't been doing hardly any at all...once a week maybe.

If I start to exercise like 3 times per week I feel I will keep dropping 3-4 lbs per week.

We will see.

Another update, so hopefully as you read this, you can see a complete picture.

OK...so as you remember, I started Hydroxycut about 7 weeks ago at 190 lbs. Today it is 49 days later and I'm at 170lbs. I have seen a consistent loss of 2.716 lbs per week over those 49 days. This 20 lb loss I feel was all FAT and resulted in a reduction of about 3 waist sizes. I don't have my measurements on me now, but I've seen significant reduction in my belly, waist and thighs as well as generalized weight loss over my entire body including arms, legs, face, shoulders, etc. The weight loss doesn't seem to be slowing up...and that 2.716 is a calculated average, so it's all factored in.

My diet regimen is low carb, high protein mixed with veggies, etc. I do include small amounts of carbs (bowl of cereal, bread, etc.) within my diet, plus I probably do the beer thing once a week and eat out pizza at least once or twice a week. Other than that, I try to eat right and not indulge.

My exercise regimen is cardio probably once a week. So it's nil and has been that way. I hate the gym and probably am stalling from going. I'll go when I see results begin to diminish and/or I'm back to my ideal BMI which is 22.5 at 155 lbs.

From my statistics, I expect to be at 155 lbs in about 5 weeks. This would represent a 50 lb loss from when I started dieting about 3 months ago. That's essentially about 12.5lbs/month for 4 consistent months with proper diet and little to no exercise.

Ultimately, you can peddle your butt at the gym all day, but if you eat like crap why friggin bother. Given your need to run for 2 hours to burn off the calories in a bagel...diet is much more important.

That's my update.

I found your story a most interesting and informative piece of info concerning Hydroxycut. I am a 19 year old guy in quite the same boat. Coincidentally, we both started are dieting plans on the same day - June 18. I, on the other hand, have been using TwinLab's Diet Fuel for the majority of the time. Also, I've added about 3.5 - 4 miles, 6 nights a week, and weightlifting about 5 times a week for 1.5 - 2 hours.

As of today (August 4), I've lost a little over 25 lbs (actually, its probably more than that because I am assuming I gained a couple lbs. in muscle mass). Diet Fuel, I am sure, has contributed drastically to this, because for the few days when I ran out of it, my progression dropped dramatically.

I've been researching Hydroxycut lately because I've heard it to be better and I've been considering switching over. When I read how you've done little to no workout along with the Hydroxycut, and you've lost more weight than I, the decision was made for me. I've been on it for about 5 days. I genuinely enjoy weightlifting, but the running is a different story, and if I could cut it back and still achieve better results, needless to say, it would be great.

Here are the details of it all: Today is the 50th day since I started. I've ran a totally of 153 miles. My weight has gone from 225 to about 199 for a net loss of 26 lbs.

Anyway, I look forward to reading any updates you might have. I find it amazing that the one guy near my age on this board started on the same day I did. Because of that, it is quite motivational to see how your progression is going. I'll make sure to update again in the next 2 weeks to tell how well the Hydroxycut has worked for me.

Well, I'm glad someone found some benefit from my babble. Alas, I have another update. My latest Stats are as follows:

8/16/00
Weight: 167 pounds
Waist measured in cm: 82.5
Tape wrapped around stomach crossing over navel measured in cm: 81.0
Tape wrapped around Chest crossing over nipple line measured in cm: 92.0
Right thigh measured at groin in cm: 55
Left thigh measured at groin in cm: 56

NOTE: It should be noted that my chest measurement dropped to 91cm, but is now increasing again from lifting and developing significant pectoral muscle.

Beyond this snapshot of stats, what has really happened? Well, I've actually stopped taking Hydroxycut for a week or so now...maybe a little more. Instead of taking the hydroxycut, I've added about 2 hours of cardio a week, plus about 2 hours of weight lifting. With those additions, for about two weeks now, and having a healthy diet, I have not gained back any of the weight.

Given that I have increased my workouts, I'm actually starting to develop and hone body tone. I have realized that, due to my frame size, I highly doubt that hydroxycut will bring me below 165lbs. Given that I was coming from 205lbs, a 40lb loss I guess is enough. I was on hydroxycut for about two weeks and never dropped below 165lbs. I think, given my diet and frame, hydroxycut has reduced my body fat to a very low level. Anything lower than 165lbs would probably be unhealthy. We will see. I could probably hit 160 if I really worked, but I'm not pushing it.

Needless to say, the increase in body tightness and tone are bringing out the curves and the muscles in all the right places. This, I believe is NOT from hydroxycut, but from HARD WORK....cardio, cardio, cardio, cardio and lifting, lifting, lifting, lifting, not drugs, drugs, drugs. The Hydroxycut did reduce body fat wonderfully though.

So, given my new "look" I'm sporting around, I've decided to get a li'l short trendy haircut and go tanning. So alas, I went from 205 and overweight to 165 and toned with some muscles and curves, nice trendy hair, and a great golden tan. Did hydroxycut do it all? Of course not. But it sure did help in more ways than one...both motivationally and physically.

Where do I want to go from here? Hmm...I figure if I keep up cardio for like 2 hours a week and lifting at 2 hours a week, I'll turn into ATLAS. Perhaps my golden tan, stylin' hair, and hot bod will allow me to become divine. Hopefully the magic powers will come about soon. How long does it take to cross the threshold into divinity?

Keep using hydroxycut, but also eat well and work out. This triple pack punch will turn you into a model if you're serious in about 3 months. It's all up to you.

See ya.

Well, if any of you are reading this...Attached are my final thoughts.

Lets summarize: About 4 months ago I weighed in at 205lbs, probably pushing a 37'' waist...and god knows what other kind of measurements.

Today, 4 months later: I weigh in at 165lbs, 32'' waist, 31'' around at the navel, and 90cm crossing the chest.

So...In essence, I've dropped 40lbs, 5 waist sizes, and am a sleek, mean machine now. I think it's AMAZING...and probably one of the best things I have ever done for myself.

How did I do it? I followed the "4 Steps to Being a Hottie" Checklist below.

Let's use me as an example....I started at 5'9" ~ 205lbs.

1.) Download a height/weight chart - find yourself...laugh at the number. The height/weight chart says a man 5'9'' should be somewhere around 158lbs I believe. Next, get the formula for BMI (Body Mass Index) a more modern an scientific way of determining your ideal weight. Do that calculation...I think the formula is kg/M^2, but check me. Anyway, take your middle number in your height/weight chart range and average it with the number (pounds) that would allow your BMI to be 22.5. Ideal BMI is 20-25...so again we assume a median. This calculation for me results in a ideal weight contemplating the height/weight chart and BMI to be around 160. So...this mathematical gymnastics gives you where you are (205) and where you need to go (160). OK, a loss of 45 lbs.

2.) Buy Hydroxycut. Start the dosing on the back. Buy name brand at GNC to start, make sure your bottle has a lot number. At GNC this will be a non-issue, but there are some fakes out there on the net. After your first bottle you could try the generic Thermo-Cuts from Optimum Nutrition (I don't work for Nutribodies, but I have bought from them. They have good stuff at good prices). I charted my weight loss daily for the duration of time on the Hydroxycut and Generic Thermo-Cuts. I see no significant differences. So, I guess buy the generic if you wanna save some cash, but start out with the real stuff first . Do your own charting and make sure the generic will work for you.

You should expect to lose approximately 10-12lbs per month for the duration of time you take it. Your body can only metabolize/generate fat at 10-12lbs/month, so losing anything more is muscle weight or water weight and unhealthy. Be patient. Eat healthy. Also be aware that if you choose to be unhealthy and lose more than about 10lbs/month, your skin wont have time to adjust and you will be all flabby when you're done....not cool.

3.) After you have lost 75% of what you need to lose...ergo, I needed to lose 45lbs, so about 30lbs for me...begin to exercise. Do cardio at least 30-45 minutes, 3X week. The more cardio you do, the more you will catalyze your way to modelhood. That cardio will get the numbers beginning to drop again because by this time, hydroxycut is going to begin to slow. Why? You don't have a lot of fat left to lose...only like 10-11lbs, so combining hydroxycut with significant exercise will burn through that 10-11lbs. Plus, the added cardio is going to take your new found body and begin to sculpt it...beginning to show those curves you never knew existed. Gotta love curves.

4.) After your months are up, look in the mirror...and your a hottie. Easy as that.

I think this is my final memo. This is my story...and I know this works. There are probably other ways that work too, but I think my way is reasonably healthy, painless, and effective, over time.

It's changed my life. Be Well.
