Consumer Review: Hydroxycut Has Made It Impossible For Me To Get A Good Night's Sleep. It's 5:30AM Right Now.

First off, the Hydroxycut I'm taking is Canadian...it's missing some ingredients that you guys in the states get. I think it's missing the chromium, as well as the stimulant...can anyone clarify this for me?

Anyways, this is my first week on Hydroxycut. I've downed 7 pills, once when I get up in the morning, an hour before meals. I'm a 21-year old male, 5'8, 150 lbs. I HAVE noticed small results already, but this could just be from psychological effects.

I don't feel as hungry as I normally do, but I do listen to my body and eat in regular intervals. It doesn't stop me from eating normal amounts, but if I don't remember to eat, I wont feel the hunger. This is not a good thing for most people because you need to have a healthy, balanced diet. Also, it makes me thirstier, and my normal 2 daily litres of water doesn't cut it.

I've been experiencing major sleeping problems since starting Hydroxycut...it's almost 5:30 am now, and I really can't sleep. Even if I get 4 hours the night before, I spend about 2-3 hours trying to fall asleep. I've been skipping all my classes because, once I do fall asleep, it's hard to get me up. I'm thinking of discontinuing this stuff during exam time. I should be at least...I cant even go to classes!

Anyway, I'm just writing to complain, since I cant fall asleep (trying since 3am).

I am a 25 year old Canadian woman, and am using Hydroxycut to supplement a vegetarian diet and moderate exercise program. I wanted to respond to the speculations about the Canadian version of Hydroxycut. Yes, it's true, the Hydroxycut available here in Canada does NOT contain controversial stimulants....it contains Sida Cordifolia, green tea extract, and white willow bark. While some may complain that we are getting a less effective product, after reading some of the negative experiences here, I am quite pleased with the Canadian version!

As someone who has been suffering from depression and migraine headaches for over 10 years, I have not experienced any negative side effects with Hydroxycut. I too was worried about the stimulant ingredient, but after learning that this has been removed from our version, I gave it a try. I have had great results so far and no negative cardiac effects or sleeplessness. As a full time university student and single mom to a 3 year old boy, the increased energy has been a godsend!

My advice is to drink lots of water, listen to your body, and PLEASE, start with the smallest dosage for at least a week before increasing it! Too much of anything like this will send your body for a loop if it isn't given the chance to adjust first. Also, I would NOT recommend this product to anyone who will not be exercising regularly either...this will most likely lead to restlessness and insomnia if your body is not given the opportunity to burn off some energy. Most of all, make your own decisions and stay safe with anything you put into your body.

Ken,

If your physical attributes are as you describe, there's no way you should be taking hydroxycut. Hydroxycut should really only be taken by people who weigh at least 180 lbs. At 5'8'' 150 lbs you're far too thin already for the supplement, and you will experience greatly amplified side effects.

In response to response #2:

I have 17% body fat, which I think is pretty high. I'm trying to get it down to 8%, and I know it can't (and shouldn't) be done by miracle pills, but I'm willing to give it a try. How is it that I am too thin for hydroxycut, while women weighing 100 lbs can take it? Either way, I'm only taking 2 a day for now, and once my small 80 pill bottle is gone, I'm done. Also, I'm listening to my body, eating properly (trying) as well as drinking over my normal 2 litres of water (8 cups) a day.

So far, I haven't seen any side effects, other than loss of sleep, but it isn't too bad now. I'm getting used to it, and now that it's the holidays, I can sleep in until late anyway.

The results, however, aren't that great. Possibly it's because I'm taking such a small dosage, but I really do not want to exceed 2 pills a day. I am seeing the flab disappear slowly, but I know that once I stop, it will stop. The increased energy seems to be fake...I can tell. I get a burst, but it doesn't last too long before my raging heart beat takes over and I have to stop. I'd rather go on creatine for the added energy or just eat healthier.

Try another fat burning supplement such as "BetaLean HP". Hydroxycut is for people who are overweight. It contains more caffeine than both EAS products. Also, don't take any fat burning supplements after 5:00pm. Try to spread out the doses early during the day.

Good Luck
