Consumer Review: After Taking Metabolife For A Year, My Wife Developed Serious Heart Trouble.
Let me say right off the bat Metabolife has over the last year helped my wife loose a tremendous amount of weight and has given her the energy to become very fit. She has taken the recommended dosage and has drank a lot of water with each dosage. She would take 2 pills 1 hour before each meal. She would walk and run daily and she worked out to where she has dropped down to a size 4 or 5 pants size and very toned. This was great since she before would normally wear a size 12. This was a positive image booster for her but after about a year she started having various complications:
1. She would have instances where all the sudden her body would shake due to her heart rate. She would have shortness of breath etc...The first time this episode lasted 20 minutes and she would not go to the Hospital.
2. Again at a time when she was not doing anything stressful it would happen again. The same symptoms would occur but this time it lasted 30 minutes.
3. This time she was at her mothers and she could not deny the problem she was having and she was rushed to the Hospital. She spent 2 days in intensive care and her heart beat was at close to 200 bpm and would not lower this time. They administered several drugs that the worst heart attack victims are given and it was close to 2 hours before they seen any signs of improvement.
Let me mention that my wife is 38 and has had no heart problems and there is no evidence of heat failure in her family history. She had been off Metabolife for about 1 month prior to the episode at the Hospital.
This has occurred over the last 4 months and she still has the heart problems on a daily basis and she has seen a number of heart specialist and her heart races anywhere from 140 and up to 200 beats per minute. This occurs maybe once or twice a day and we have seen other complications. Basically her heart is slowly wearing out because of the pounding in her chest. The doctors have put her on Calcium & Beta Blocks, and various other medicines but nothing has helped. The next step is exploratory heart surgery etc.
My wife does not want to believe that taking Metabolife has anyway negatively effected her in this manner but I cannot explain any other reasons for the heart conditions. She does not smoke, drink or even drink coffee! Well I hope even if 1 person as a result of reading my submission will think twice before taking Metabolife or any other type of weight control drugs.

Hi, maybe your wife needs to adjust her dosage since her weight has dropped so dramatically.
