Question: What Are The Side Effects Of Metabolife?

I am a new user of Metabolife. So far, it seems to be helping but I am scared of the side effects. What are they? I don't want to be taking something that could harm me. I'm having problems finding information on my own.

Thank You

Met causes me to have terrible stomach cramps!! Good Luck!

Answer #2

I've taken metabolife for over a year now and had to recently stop because it caused chest pains and high blood pressure. I was advised by my doctor to put it up for good.

I took metabolife for a month. It is an incredible energy booster. I felt wired enough to do a lot more exercise and activity than normal. I also felt my heart race and was very shaky. I drank a lot of water like the distributor and instructions said, and took two before a meal like I was supposed to. I lost weight, but the exaggerated heart rate and the uncontrollable nervous shake was enough to make me only take one tablet. The symptoms didn't change. I threw away the remainder and went to healthy food and daily exercise. My heart rate is normal and I feel lots better. My advice: Save your money and buy a home gym and reexamine how you eat. Don't bother with Metabolife. The long term side effects are not worth it.

Answer #4

I have used metabolife for over a year with no ill effects whatsoever.

Answer #5

I have been taking Metabolife for about three months. Because I'm not good at taking pills, I now only take one every morning (along with my prescribed 40mg of Celexa). In the last two weeks I've had a fast heart rate, extreme anxiety, and shaky hands. I've also felt very tired, depressed and overwhelmed. After reading some of the comments, I think I need to stop! I did lose a little weight and have kept it off, but I think the side effects are definitely not worth it. I'm glad I read this because I was about to ask my doctor for an increase or change in medication. Thanks.

I took metabolife for one year and it worked great for me. I took 2 pills per day, one in the morning and one before lunch. The first week of usage caused my heart rate to increase and I was a bit hyper, but I got used to it after that. After about a year, I got a really bad case of diarrhea and I went to the doctor and found nothing wrong with me. I didn't tell him about metabolife, but I stopped taking it and the diarrhea went away. It's been 7 or 8 months since then and I'm getting ready to start taking it again. I'm not overweight, but I would like to lose 5 lbs. Moral of the story, take it in moderation.

I have been taking Metabolife for over a month. I can't believe how the weight just has been coming off and people are telling me I look great. The first three nights I didn't get any sleep and felt really hot, so I had to sleep on top of the covers. I am taking three a day, one an hour before each meal and I drink a lot of water. I have the energy to do things that usually I would procrastinate on like dishes, laundry, bill paying, etc.

I didn't have a real problem with it until today. I was driving through town and it's a Sunday, so traffic here in the medium sized town of Flagstaff is usually not very bad at all. But all of a sudden, I panicked! I got really anxious and was really worried that somebody was going to crash into me or something really bad was going to happen. I almost pulled off the road to call somebody to come pick me up, but I didn't want to sound loony, so I stuck it out until I got home and then tried to take a nap to let the feeling wear off.

Then I met my parents at the movies . Everything was going okay until I went to go get them a refill on popcorn, which I wasn't eating any of. I got cranky and snatched the bag out of my mom's hands and stormed out to the concession stand. The movie was a comedy and it had some wild and gory violence in it, and for some reason, it really did a number on me. I could hardly watch and was anxious to leave the theatre. Maybe I'm just having a bad day, but the only thing I can think it might've been was the Metabolife because I've never felt this... "crazy" would be a good word for it... before. So, I'm definitely going to lay off it for a few days at least.

I would never recommend Metabolife to anyone. The side effects are awful. It's not worth it at all. I am not an overweight person, but I've taken it to keep myself from snacking all day long. It does control your appetite, but only because it makes you so nauseated that you can't stand the sight of food.

I take only two pills a day. The symptoms are always different. Sometimes it makes me very panicky and light-headed. Sometimes it makes me very irritable and crabby, and I pick fights with everyone for any stupid little reason. My boyfriend and I used to fight constantly, but as soon as I stopped taking it, we get along great. I realized it made me pick on him for every little thing he did that normally wouldn't bother me. Not to mention that when I stop taking it, it gives me the worst headaches you could imagine, and the headaches come immediately after withdrawing from the pill.

I hadn't taken it for months, but last week I decided to try again to help me get back into shape. Big mistake. This time it made me so depressed that I couldn't even breathe. I wanted to just stay in bed and away from everyone that whole week. The sadness was unbearable. I felt borderline suicidal. Basically, what I am trying to say is that these pills are not worth taking. I am very concerned about weight and what I look like, but I realize that nothing good comes easy. No pill can make you beautiful without some BAD side effects. I have decided to try to eat better and exercise every day. The process will be slower, but at least I am happy and get along with all the people around me.

Thank you.

I had insomnia when I took Metabolife. When I took it, I always had something to do, my house was SPOTLESS!!! In a month I lost 12lbs, then found out I was pregnant (hey, like I said, I needed "something" to do). I had to stop, but I lost the baby weight right away. Postpartum I went on prescription diet pills and lost the rest.
