Question: Is It Safe To Take St. John's Wort While Breast Feeding?

I see that the St. John's Wort bottle says consult a physician first, but what is it and can I breast feed and take it ? My mom and father swear by it.

Answer #1

Taking St. John's Wort while breast feeding was a no go for my wife with the La Leche League. It is a Herb that affects the Nervous System. Most herbs are not recommended for Lactating Women. I would consult a physician before trying.

Good Luck
