Consumer Review: I Think St. John's Wort Has Something To Do With The Terrible Light Sensitivity I'm Experiencing After My Cataract Surgery.

I am having a terrible time with light sensitivity with my second cataract surgery. I didn't with my first one. Since then, I have taken St John's Wort for one year or more. I think it is partly responsible for my sensitivity. When you discontinue taking the supplement will the light sensitivity caused by the supplement end or is it permanent?

Thank you,
Bonnie W.

I commenced taking St. John's Wort over a year ago. A few months ago, I started to get a very itchy rash on my face and neck. My doctor put me onto strong cortisone creams, which helped when I was taking them, but the rash reappeared as soon as I stopped. Eventually a specialist advised me that there had been some cases of sun sensitivity in persons taking SJW. I have ceased taking the tablets and the rash has improved, but I am not able to go into the sunlight and have to wear sun block daily.
