Training Question: What Are Some Exercises I Can Do With A Barbell Set Or Without Weights To Build Up My Arms And Chest?

Hi, my name is Razer. I am 14 years old and I lift weights to get a better body. I mostly want to build up my arms and my chest. I only have a barbell set. What are some exercises that I can do with the barbells or without weights to build up those body parts?

THANK YOU,
Razer
P.S. Please reply.

I'm 17 and train at home with a single set of barbells. I've found that the best thing to do is basic stuff. I started with push-ups on my knees, then to my feet until I could do about 60 without much trouble. Then I wanted to isolate my biceps, so I got some barbells and started doing curls. With a combo of push-ups and curls I find that I can best develop my chest and arms.

I'm no pro at this and I'm not familiar with all the theory involving weight training and reps. I find the best thing to do is do enough curls till the biceps just start to hurt. Then do pushups just until your pecs or chest starts hurt. Go back to curls and hammer your biceps until you feel like you're gonna die. Then go back to push ups and do the same. Have a quick break 2-3 minutes. Then hammer your biceps and chest again with curls and pushups.

It's simple, but it works for me. The trick is to keep pushing yourself further, keep going until it hurts like crazy. Do every Mon, Wed, Friday. Or whatever feels best.

All you basically need is some weights and your arms and feet. Just start off with some jumping jacks to get your heart going until you're tired. Then do pushups. If you're in a shape like me you should do at least like 30 to 50. If you got some dumbbells, then do bicep curls then butterfly for your triceps and shoulders. Just do it and you'll just get into, it trust me.

Hey man, I know where you're coming from. I'm fourteen and for the longest time I needed to find a way to get muscle without weights. Although now I have dumbbells and other equipment, I still do a lot of no-weight routines. Here's one for the chest and arms:

1) Push-ups between two chairs
2) Pull-ups
3) Dips
4) Chin-ups

If you're using barbells, put this into your routine:

1) Barbell Curls
2) Tricep Extensions
3) Wrist Curls
4) Upright Rows
5) Bench Press
6) Reverse Curls

Thanks for considering my response.

What's happening man? I'm 17, and have been working out for around three years without weights. I found that push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, and jogging can get you a good looking body.

What I do is 5 sets of 20 regular push-ups on the ground, 5 sets of 20 inclined push-ups, 5 sets of 20 declined push-ups, 10 sets of 10 diamond push-ups. Then I do 5 sets of 30 sit-ups, and jog about 5 miles. I do this 3 times a week and on weekends I hit a heavy bag. For you, I'd recommend doing as many as you can with each exercise. Just keep going. Try to do at least 1 1/2 hours each workout. Well, that works for me. Good luck Razer.
