Training Tip: Having A Surgeon Give Me A Tummy Tuck Finally Let Me See And Feel My Beautiful Abs.

I was doing sit-ups for a long time, knee-up crunches and oblique exercises, not too many reps though, just enough to feel a burning sensation. My abs never showed until I had a tummy-tuck. Not that everybody can or should go under the knife to get your six pack like you always dream of. But once you've have a child or even when you've lost a considerable amount of fat, the abdominal walls are going to stretch and collapse. No matter how many sit-ups or clean diets you're on, there is no way that you're going to reach that goal.

After my surgery, the doctor told me that I had great abs underneath, but they were covered with a layer of fat. Once he removed the fat and did the tummy tuck, I finally could see the results of hundreds of sit-ups. I can touch my abs and feel the separation and hardness, and it feels sooo good. But I have to keep working on them. They're not going to stay that way unless I keep my ab routine, my clean diet and aerobic exercise. But being able to finally see your abs is the greatest motivation you can have. And now I don't have to kill myself doing sit-ups all the time.

I found out also that a change in the ab routine gives you better results. I started using a new abdominal machine which trains your ab muscles from a different angle. It's called a Torso-Tiger machine, and it really works. It's easy to do it less strenuously, and your abs really respond to this new movement. You don't have to use your neck or lower back to lift your body. You actually are lifting your body with your abs. The rowing movement is fun and easier to do. I don't feel the same burning sensation at the moment, but the next day or days after working out, I can feel my upper and lower body harder than ever before, and my abs looks like they actually get longer. I can understand why...it's a large range of motion that you apply. You actually can feel the negative and positive contraction. It's great, you also work your back, triceps and other secondary muscles. You should give it a try.
