Question: Will I Get Fat If I Take Weight Gainer Before I Go To Bed?

Today I bought this weight gainer and I was looking for a high protein mix. I saw this weight gainer and it had 74 grams of protein per serving with non-fat milk. If I take this weight gainer before I go to bed, will it make me fat or will the protein help rebuild my muscle? The calories per serving were 2105. If you answer as soon as possible, I would appreciate it!

Thanks,
Nick C.

The protein will definitely help you to build muscle! To gain mass it has been suggested to take one gram of protein per pound of body weight. For example, a 200 lb. person should take 200 grams of protein per day to gain mass. As far as getting fat if you take the shake before you go to bed, I wouldn't worry about it. In high school I drank Mega Mass 2000 3 times a day and went from 169 to 192. As long as you work out and do at least 30 minutes of aerobic activity 4-5 days a week you will not get fat. Eat well, train hard, and taket in the correct amount of protein and you will gain mass. Also, read all the material you can on supplements before you take them. Magazines and sites like this are great for doing research.

Train hard and good luck,

Answer #2

If the product that you are looking at has 2000+ calories to the serving and only 74 grams of protein it contains around 14% protein (74 grams protein X 4 cal/gram = 296 calories from protein). I do not think anyone that is training should eat a meal replacement that is 15% protein and 85% carbs and fat. Stick to meals that are at least 40% protein and if it is before bed make it 50-60% protein. Eat carb loaded foods early in the day.

Answer #3

As long as you keep working out 4-5 times a week, you will not gain fat if you take it before going to bed. As long as you keep your metabolism up by working out, there should be no worries about taking something that has that many calories before going to bed. The higher your metabolism is, the harder your body works against calories and fat. Just make sure you do aerobic exercise or lift weights, two of the best ways to up your metabolism.
