Consumer Review: Whey Powder Protein Supplement Mixed With Orange Juice Tasted Evil And Made Me Feel Ill.

My naturopath has prescribed whey powder protein supplement, 100 grams per day, as part of a treatment program for Lyme disease. How can I take this stuff? I mixed it with orange juice, but it tasted evil and made me feel ill. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have been trying whey protein for a few weeks now and found that mixing it with milk was not bad tasting. Although, it does come out quite thick. A number of whey proteins suggest water as the carrier and this is okay depending on the flavor of the whey. Don't use juices as it is like mixing milk with O.J., and just as unpleasant to look at.

Hope it helps your Lyme Disease,
Donnie

P.S. I love the way every ex GNC employee slates the company and its products. I work there and I get paid well 'cos I can sell, not because I know a lot about the product.

Hey partner, just a word of advice. There are many whey proteins and protein powders that taste disgusting. Try Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein. Mixed with milk, this stuff is delicious. I swear it tastes better than any regular milk shake. I drink the stuff like it was water, which probably isn't good because replacing it for water doesn't exactly help the creatine cramps....lol.

Anyway try that stuff, it is great!

I heard that some of the flavorings can be carcinogenic so I get the unflavored kind. Make small concentrated shots of the whey and slam them back so as you don't taste it. After a while, what little you can taste of it doesn't taste so bad. Man, I almost like the taste of it now.

Whey is great mixed in with frappucino from Starbucks.

I mix my whey powder with 8 ounces of orange juice and then I blend it up with ice and a banana. It is delicious and I would recommend it to anyone.
