Question: Can I Take Xenadrine For Weight Loss If I Have Anxiety And Depression?

I have anxiety and depression. Can I still take the Xenadrine? Even though I haven't been taking the medication for about 8 to 9 months, can I still use the Xenadrine? I really want to lose weight and I got the bottle of Xenadrine here with me now. I want to take it but I'm kind of scared. What if? I just want to learn more before taking it. Maybe you can encourage me to take it.

Thank you so much,
Norma

I too have this problem. I am on medication for depression and anxiety. I was nervous to take it at first, but so far so good. I do get side effects like everyone else seems to have. I am 18 years old, 5'4 and weigh 140. I take the full recommended dose, but I started off with just half. For safety reasons, maybe you should check with your doctor. I am a risk-taker so I just went for it. Good luck.

Answer #2

I too am an 18 year old, at 5'4" and 140 lbs. I have been diagnosed with bi-polarism, and with a history of drug use (in recovery) I was afraid that this might be another "speed-substitute diet pill." I haven't checked with my doc yet, but I've started taking the recommended half-dosage for 3 days now. It does make me a bit jittery, but also gives me the extra push I need to get up and exercise. I figure I'll just trade one for the other.

Answer #3

I have anxiety as well. I take prescription meds when needed. Does anyone know if there are risks involved with combining the two?

Answer #4

I have been taking antidepressants and taking Xenadrine. No side affects here. Just be careful.

Answer #5

I got very few directions when I received my bottle of Xenadrine (i.e., nothing about starting doses, etc.), but one thing it does say right on the bottle is not to take the pills if you have anxiety or depression. This is a serious consideration because of the stimulant in the product. My friend, on a diet pill with this ingredient, experienced severe psychotic symptoms. It was really scary for her friends, but not for her because she really believed in her delusions. If you must take this product, put all your friends on the alert to look for changes in your behavior. I myself have given my husband permission to flush all the pills down the toilet if he thinks I am becoming the least bit unbalanced. Good luck.
